An ode to blogging
Ah the humble blog, the champion for everyone who’s got something to say. Here’s a little something for you, as testament of our gratitude.

Ever heard of whiny Wednesdays? It’s that rule that no matter how you feel about anything happening presently in your life, you’re not going to whine about it until Wednesday.
Young and old, rich and poor, we are all entitled to express gripes about our situation, whether it be about putting food on the table or just finding out that your favourite hairstylist has left your salon. Okay, so some gripes have a heavier weight than others—and it’s a good thing that for some lighter things, there are ‘creative outlets’ for people to vent their frustrations.
Like the blogging world, for example. It’s a place where anyone can start talking and sharing their thoughts no matter what the context.
And so without further ado, here is Kipp’s ode to the blog, inspired by this article on mother-bloggers (they don’t like being called ‘mommy bloggers’, apparently, so we’re making up this new name for them) on The National.
It goes a little something like this:
Ah the Blog.
How beautifully multipurpose you are.
Oh you tool for the oppressed nations, tool for companies to communicate with its customers and, most of all venting tool, for mothers of today.
So creative do you, oh lovely blog, encourage us to be…that you have allowed us to share so many adventures…
From sharing the harrowing story of bumping into other mothers dropping off their kids to school to discussing the difficulties of holding down friendships in the transient town that is Dubai.
Where else would we, the people—from the mother-bloggers to the freedom fighters—find a way to express our deepest desires and thoughts and find readers who will lend an hour or two to the humble ranting that we bloggers compose?
Oh blog. Oh blog. We thank thee.
