Another record blown to bits

Abu Dhabi’s fireworks on UAE National Day will break world record
November 30, 2008 12:41 by kippreport
Just when Dubai was basking in the glory of Atlantis, The Palm’s high profile opening, Abu Dhabi announces that on December 2, UAE National Day, it will stage the world’s biggest firework display.
The display will last a whopping 45 minutes (starting at 8.30pm), and can be seen along the corniche, reports WAM.
The announcement suggests two things: 1) Abu Dhabi’s record breaking display will be for everyone, and not just rich and famous celebrities, and 2) What Dubai can do, Abu Dhabi can do better.
Ouch.
