The world’s tallest hotel, Rose Rayhaan, has been inaugurated in Dubai. Is anyone else getting tired of all these records?

Just two days after Dubai proudly inaugurated the world’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa, the emirate has witnessed the unveiling of another record breaking structure: the world’s tallest hotel.
The Rose Rayhaan was officially opened on Wednesday. Built by Rotana, it stands 333 meters tall, making it 12 meters taller than Burj Al Arab (the previous record holder). The new four-star hotel has 72 storeys and 482 rooms, suites and penthouses, and cost $180 million to build. It operates under Rotana’s alcohol-free brand, and the group has said it hopes to upgrade the hotel to five-stars within the next six to 12 months.
Kipp wonders if opening this hotel just two days after Burj Khalifa was a planned marketing gimmick. With everyone talking about the world’s tallest building in Dubai, was Rotana hoping the media would pounce on another “world’s tallest” from the city? Or is the date purely coincidental?
Either way, we’re also wondering: what world record will the city break next?
