Big bums are better

So say experts from Oxford University. In your face, skinny people.

Hip, bum and thigh fat is good for your health and can actually protect you against heart problems, according to research from Oxford University. Hip fat contains an anti-inflammatory agent that prevents arteries from clogging, according to the research. It also indicated that having too little fat around the hips can lead to metabolic problems such as Cushing’s syndrome.
“Fat around the hips and thighs is good for you but around the tummy is bad,” said lead researcher Konstantinos Manolopoulos. “Unfortunately, you tend not to get one without the other,” he added.
In fact, in the future, doctors might even find ways to redistribute body fat, pushing more to the hips to prevent diseases such as diabetes, the research said.
Kipp loves hearing research reports like this. Especially on a day when the team decided to eat a three-course lunch that included strawberries and ice-cream for dessert.
And yes, the next time someone teases our big butts, we will have the last laugh.
