A new ruling in Peru says that employees can’t be fired for being drunk at work.

A Peru court has ruled that workers cannot be fired for being drunk on the job, and asked the municipality of Chorrillos to re-hire Pablo Cayo, a janitor it fired for being intoxicated at work.
According to the court, the firing was excessive because even though Cayo was drunk, he did not offend or hurt anybody.
What a great piece of logic.
