Dubai’s The Entertainer goes digital
Two-for-one voucher brand releases mobile app.

The Entertainer, the Dubai-based company behind the popular two-for-one voucher books, has officially launched its mobile application to meet the demand of a larger customer base.
The free app, which represents the company’s first official venture into the digital world since the books were launched in print in 2001, will allow customers to redeem their buy-one-get-one-free vouchers using smartphones.
Along with allowing customers to share their experiences through social media platforms, the application’s most significant feature is allowing users to find outlets where vouchers can be redeemed based on proximity.
Donna Benton, founder and CEO of The Entertainer, says that the mobile app will cater to the needs of customers who are always on the go and are in need of spontaneous, yet convenient ways to redeem their buy-one-get-one-free vouchers.
As of November 5, customers can pre-order and download the entire range of 2014 Entertainer mobile packages, including destination-specific offers for Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Jeddah, Riyadh, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait and Jordan.
The brand is also expanding globally, as mobile packages will also be available for sale in Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Cape Town, Johannesburg and London. This expansion was made possible after Dubai-based investment firm Abraaj Capital bought 50 per cent of the business in 2012, allowing Benton to plan a two-year expansion plan into Europe, Africa and Asia.
Developed by UK-based Future Workshops, it is one of the first apps to be specifically architected for Apple’s iOS7, the company’s latest operating system. It is also available on Android and BlackBerry 10, and a Windows app will be released on January 1, 2014.
When Kippreport spoke to Benton last November, she said that the books will always remain at the core of the company, with the digital strategy on top.
