Good news for Dubai’s taxi users
It’s true. The RTA authorities have just announced that taxis don’t need to pay Salik.

Finally, some good taxi news! We are so tired of reporting angry/frustrated/ painful taxi stories that it feels really good to write something nice for a change.
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has just announced that Salik charges will be waived for taxis in Dubai from December 2, the UAE National Day.
The best part about this initiative is that taxi drivers’ salaries will not affected by the decision, and commuters won’t have to pay the tolls anymore.
Meanwhile, the RTA has also announced that 200 district taxis will be assigned to specific areas in the city, to help ease the public’s taxi woes.
