Traffic departments in the UAE have gathered AED44 million in unpaid fines since a Dubai Police initiative began in January 2009, reports Khaleej Times.

“The initiative-in which the license and vehicle of those in default ofDh500 or more are being impounded by the traffic department of the Dubai Police -is set to become the norm for other traffic departments in the UAE,” the article said.

The problem, however, is that we haven’t noticed a drop in reckless driving. Have you?

it will never change.. its just a total lack of resepct for anyone except themselves.. so the carnage will continue as it has for the last 15 years I’ve lived here

drive a patrol or landcruiser with full tint.. you are invincible and invisible to the police
