Itsy bitsy bikini turnout

Britain failed miserably as it attempted to set a world record for the largest swimsuit shoot. We wonder why?
August 3, 2009 4:25 by Aarti Nagraj
This weekend, Jubilee beach in Essex had hoped to attract more than 1,923 bikini clad women to help break the world record for the largest bikini shoot in one place. But according to newspaper reports, only 42 people turned up for the event, which was also raising money for Southend Hospital’s breast cancer appeal.
Organizers blamed bad weather forecasts for dissuading more women from baring (almost) all on the beach.
Debbie Reynolds, one of the Bikini Beach Bash organizers, told the Times: “It’s pretty rubbish I must admit. It made me feel embarrassed to be British when we can’t even mount a decent challenge.”
Never mind Debbie, at least you gave it a go; this is one challenge that Dubai will certainly not take up!
