Cable cuts in the system have interrupted the internet connection in the region.

There were a slew of curses this morning when everybody in the office struggled to log on to the internet. Cuts in submarine cable systems between Alexandria and Italy have handicapped the internet service across the region, and an Etisalat spokesperson told Gulf News that the problem will only be fixed by December 27.
But the whole situation makes one realize just how dependent we are on the Internet, and how we feel almost disabled when we’re unable to access it. Can you imagine what would happen if there was a similar problem and the Internet supply was cut off completely?
