Gilberto Shedden (aka Chito), is best friends with a crocodile. For real. The 52-year-old Costa Rican fisherman found a dying crocodile 20 years back, named it Pocho, and became its best buddy. Now the two put up an act for visitors in the town of Sarapiqui.

“I stayed by Pocho’s side while he was ill, sleeping next to him at night. I just wanted him to feel that somebody loved him, that not all humans are bad,” Chito told UK-based newspaper, The Sun.

“He’s my friend, I don’t want to treat him like a slave or exploit him. I am happy because I rescued him and he is happy with me because he has everything he needs,” he added.

Somewhere in the world is a dog shedding crocodile tears.
