A 17 year old girl married a man 95 years her senior in Somalia. Why?

A man in central Somalia, who claims to be 112 years old, has married a 17-year-old girl in a wedding attended by hundreds of guests, reported the BBC on Thursday.

Ahmed Muhamed Dore, who has fathered 18 children by five wives, plans to have more children with his teenage bride, Safia Abdulleh.

In spite of the 95 year age gap, the bride is “happy with her new husband.”

The groom said: “I didn’t force her, but used my experience to convince her of my love; and then we agreed to marry.”

Kipp has trouble believing that.

    I need to ask the very obvious question for the 112yr old man … can he perform? There is no mention of viagra here so what Somalian herbs is he living on as that is the next best undiscovered thing…

    As for the girl, that is quite a wrinkle to embrace…
