“Miss Beautiful Morals”

That is what Saudi Arabia’s only beauty pageant is called.

We never thought it would happen, but it has. Saudi has finally got its own beauty pageant to boast about. Obviously, the contest will not feature bikinis or ball gowns.
“The idea of the pageant is to measure the contestants’ commitment to Islamic morals,” the pageant founder Khadra Al Mubarak told the Associated Press. “It’s an alternative to the calls for decadence in the other beauty contests that only take into account a woman’s body and looks,” she said, adding that the winner will not necessarily be pretty.
“We care about the beauty of the soul and the morals,” she added.
The pageant opens on May 9, and the contestants will be quizzed on themes such as “Discovering your inner strength,” “The making of leaders” and “Mom, paradise is at your feet” – a saying attributed to Prophet Muhammad.
We can’t wait to see who will be crowned “Miss Beautiful Morals.” Can you?
