For all the Dubai-haters, here’s one man loyal to the place. An Afghan thief, who has been deported six times from the UAE, has again been charged of stealing cars in Dubai and is now facing trial.

“The suspect has showed unexplainable persistence in re-entering the country to carry out his criminal acts,” Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed al Merri, head of Dubai Police’s criminal investigation division told The National. “He comes by sea from Iran to neighboring countries and then infiltrates the UAE.”

The man has been deported in 1995, 1996, 1997, 2001, 2005 and 2007 and has also been jailed for seven years, says the report.

The thief’s persistence is remarkable. Not only is he loyal to his profession, he is also loyal to the country from which he steals. But what is also amazing is that this thief has been able to dupe the authorities so many times by entering the country undetected.

Kipp wonders what his latest punishment will be, and how the authorities will keep him away for good this time.
