Not Verre-y impressed
In chat with Bloomberg, VIP bemoans posh eatery's unchanging decor

A colourful piece by news agency Bloomberg profiles several of the star chefs that have come to Dubai or are planning an imminent arrival in the wake of corporate relocations like those of Goldman Sachs and Halliburton.
Garnering mentions are Pierre Gagnaire, Marco Pierre White, Jean-George Vongerichten and ultra-chic eateries Nobu and Zuma. We notice Gary Rhodes of Mezzanine fails to make an appearance. And, of course, there’s Gordon Ramsay, whose Verre, north of the Creek, has long been a mainstay.
Too long for some, apparently. “Verre hasn’t changed its decor since it opened,” says Sultan al Qassemi, a member of the Sharjah ruling family. “It wouldn’t be able to get away with it in Europe.”
