Tata’s Nano is on sale

...And it's no beauty.

The world’s cheapest car, Tata Motors’s Nano, is now on sale in Mumbai, India. The 10-foot, five-seater has a 33bhp, 624cc engine at the rear. It does not come with air bags, air conditioning, power steering or a radio. It retails for $1,979 (AED7,269).
Basically, it’s a shadow of a car, with a functioning motor and wheels. For many people, that’s more than enough.
Without airbags, however, the Nano could be a death-trap if it went on sale in the UAE. And imagine what the summer would be like without air conditioning…
