We're having taxi trouble, and we're not happy about it

We know that everyone’s moaning about Dubai taxis and how they’re never around and rarely honor bookings. But we have a different complaint.
On the off chance that we do find a taxi, we deal with drivers who not only drive erratically, but they also don’t know where they’re going.
We don’t know the ins and outs of the transport industry, but there are certain givens that we’re aware of: taxi drivers need to A. know how to drive, and B. know where they’re going. And if you’re anything like us, after you’ve found a taxi and settled into your seat, the last thing you want to do is give directions to someone who’s driving maniacally on the emirate’s dangerous roads.
It’s just a thought.

We visited Dubai over December, the taxi service was very dissappointing with empty taxis passing by and not stopping, those who do leave you standing on the road side as soon as they hear your destination. Tourists are very dependant on a reliable taxi service. After visiting Dubai 3 years in succession we have decided to visit another country next year. Why drive a taxi if you have no intention to fullfil your role in the tourism industry? A very distressing attitude. Dubai is starting to show the signs of degeneration. Where there’s smoke there’s fire.
