2014 FIFA World Cup: Referees shown red card
Do you think referees are going overboard?

The 2014 FIFA World Cup kicked off last week, and so, too, did the many arguments about the referees’ often-questionable judgments.
Take the opening game that saw favorites Brazil take on Croatia. The former were victorious thanks to a penalty that left many a Croatian supporter scratching their heads.
Following the game, team captain Niko Kovac said: “We better give up now and go home. Football is about respect, Croatia didn’t get any.”
And let’s not forget Portugal, who went down to 10 men thanks to a dramatic airing of a red card in the opening minutes of the game.
Here at Kipp HQ, we can’t help but think it’s the refs that should be shown the red cards for their over zealous judgments. What do you think? Are you happy with the standard of the refereeing in the World Cup so far?
