Abdul Rahman Bukhatir, chairman of Bukhatir Investments Limited, is one of the founders of Dubai Sports City. Prior to launching Bukhatir Group, Bukhatir worked in a British bank until he decided to quit and open his own business.
Dubai Sports City, part of the Dubailand project and a joint venture of three Dubai-based businessmen, includes stadiums and schools in golf, tennis, football, rugby, cricket and swimming for professional and amateur athletes.
Dubai Sports City has become the International Cricket Council’s location for its first Global Cricket Academy. Bukhatir, president of the Emirates Cricket Board, set up the Cricketers Benefit Fund Series in 1981 and established the 12,000 seat Cricket Stadium in Sharjah.
