With a degree in industrial engineering from the US, Kalban joined the company in 1985 as a graduate trainee. He went to occupy several positions, including general manager of smelting operations, and the director of operations.
Dubal provides hot metal aluminium for clients in more than 44 countries, and by the year-end, the company hopes to produce around one million tonnes of the metal.
Kalban is also the chairman of the safety committee in the International Primary Aluminium Institute and the deputy chairman of the Zayed International Prize for Environment.
