Ahmed Sultan Bin Sulayem says that within a matter of weeks, the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre Authority, the free zone body for Jumeirah Lake Towers, will be the largest in the country.
The executive chairman of DMCC has recently been behind a series of announcements, starting from the convergence of one of the residential area’s lakes into a multi-themed park and ending with a major announcement of constructing the world’s tallest commercial building.
In between, the authority has also announced the addition of extra parking lots in the family-oriented community that, in the chairman’s words, the community ‘screams for’, and the building of a mosque.
In a recent interview, he expressed his personal dislike towards the area’s lakes – stating that he would prefer to have something useful and more efficient instead.
However, he promises that no other lakes will be filled without the community’s support and demand.
He says that at times, giving the one-way road structure as an example, he preempts what he believes the community needs, but for the most part, he keeps his ears firmly to the ground and pays attention to what residents and businesses want.
