In an effort to preserve a neat and clean environment, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) launched a campaign with Dubai Municipality to clean the city’s roads in order to uphold an attractive environment for residents, visitors and road users.
Engineer Maitha bin Adai, CEO of RTA Traffic & Roads Agency, says: “The campaign, which runs in partnership with the Dubai Municipality and other related service entities, continues until the end of this month. It echoes the attention to bolster the aesthetic appearance of Dubai to live up to its billing as a global tourist destination and, likewise, other modern metropolises.”
She adds: “We have opted to start with Sheikh Zayed Road as a due to its vital importance and strategic location, both to the aesthetic and urban aspects. The approved program includes cleaning works and the removal of accumulated dust in the medians.”
Adai went on to explain that a specialist team of engineers and technical inspectors had teamed up with the traffic and roads departments to provide traffic diversions and signposts through RTA contractors, as per the approved standards.
These visual aids are aimed at enhancing public safety and ensuring smooth traffic flow for pedestrians and drivers alike. Teams from the RTA and Dubai Municipality will be providing services and facilities for the safe pick-up and drop-off of workers.
