The Dubai Press Club also decided to promote the event through social networking sites this year; they opened three different groups on Facebook: Dubai Press Club, Arab Media Forum and Arab Journalism Awards. The Arab Media Forum group has managed to pull in more than 160 members.
The organizers told us they are planning to use these groups throughout the year, and are hoping to use the channel as a means to facilitate debate online. They said that they will keep the media and other members informed about their activities through the groups.
The Dubai Press Club also launched transmission channels on You Tube, allowing viewers access to various media events held at the club, including the previous editions of the Arab Media Forum.
