Dubai’s government-backed media group claims to be the largest in UAE, and has just launched a new 24- hour channel to its existing portfolio.

The group was started in 2005, and currently operates nine radio stations and three newspapers, it also has interests in television, online and events management. AMG runs a logistics and distribution company called Tawseel and a printing press operation called Masar.
It has international partnerships with Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin group, and MTV. Its online division, Arabian Online Network, is in the process of launching about 20 websites by early 2009.
In March, its outdoor advertising company, Shoof Outdoor, signed a joint venture with Stroer Concept, to bid for the advertising rights of the Dubai Metro railway project. However, they didn’t win the bid, and according to Communicate magazine, the bid has been won by Kassab Media.
