The Noon Art Boutique Hotel Apartments, which is the first of its kind in Dubai to solely focus on art, was launched yesterday (Monday, February 10), thereby bringing a unique concept to the city’s hospitality sector.
UAE-based art collectors have invested in its creation, although it was the brainchild of Khaled Al Mutawa, a property developer and an avid art collector himself.
In a bid to support local art and culture in the UAE, the design of each apartment has been based on the artwork of three contemporary Arab artists, Najat Meky from the UAE, Ali Hassan from Qatar and Khaled Ben Slimane from Tunisia, and includes sculptures, ceramics and paintings.
Director of the Noon Art Boutique Hotel Apartments, Haresh A. Dhanani, feels very optimistic about the concept. He says the works of the three artists are meticulously present in all of the rooms. “We want people to feel and understand Arabic art,” he adds. Hence, walls, curtains, tables, lamps, headboards, and even bathrooms and kitchens of all 45 apartments heavily feature artistic designs and engravings.
Sami Kriaa, general manager of the Noon Art Boutique Hotel Apartments, says the concept supports and nurtures the existing artistic heritage of Dubai. “The Noon Art Boutique Hotel Apartments is a refreshing concept that will encapsulate the importance of art and culture in this ever-expanding city. We have created a beautiful refuge for like-minded people to come together.”
The 12-floor development, which is located in Al Barsha near Mall of the Emirates, also encompasses an art gallery on the first floor, which is open to the public. It aims to be a home to a variety of artists and creative work, with a wide range of exhibitions conducted on a regular basis.
With the rate of a room starting at AED800, it is a mixture of Arabic modern art and décor, and offers the choices of one-, two- and three-bedroom suites.
The Noon Art Boutique Hotel Apartments also comprises a swimming pool and a Jacuzzi on the roof of the building, with other amenities, such as a gym and a sauna, along with its own restaurant and café.
