Carol Bartz fired as CEO of Yahoo
The firing of Yahoo’s latest CEO means that the company has now replaced three CEOs in a little over four years. During that time, Yahoo has been losing ground in the internet ad race to online search leader Google Inc. and Facebook… could this be the beginning of the end?

New Android Phones, from the Potent to the Pennywise

So are you smart yet? We mean, of course, if you are a part of the generation that constantly fidgets with intelligent palm-sized contraptions, hooking up to the internet to keep a finger on the pulse of things 24/7. If we were to let you in on a little secret, this Kipper isn’t one of the elite members of the former group—not for not trying. We are constantly thinking of getting smart, but we are lost as far as deciding which phone to use. For the very same purposes, Kipp enjoyed this review of what to expect from the ever-growing smart phone market.

The gold and white taxis never change, they just go extinct

The National’s Ali Khaled waxes poetic about the decline of the gold and white taxis. The sentimental old fool in Kipp found it rather endearing. Here’s a brief extract: ” As with the demise of Abu Dhabi’s old central souq, and the gradual disappearance of corner shops, the old taxis will become a thing of the past sometime next year…But for those of us who grew up in Abu Dhabi in the 1980s, these taxis were our only form of transport, true lifesavers in the scorching heat, which, for all you spoilt kids, was hotter back then.” If you aren’t chuckling to yourself with internalised grief then you probably shouldn’t be reading this one…

Watch out, Rebecca Black! Rohit’s coming for you…

Watch out, Rebecca Black! There’s a new Youtube star and he’s representing Doobeedoobee Dubai. Rohit Iyengar is making the social media viral rounds these days for his single, The Malls of Dubai. Armed with what Kipp can gather is an inconspicuous camera and a seat of headphones (probably more to keep his lyrics and music in sync than for style purposes), this UAE resident proceeded to film himself singing and somewhat dancing inside different malls in Dubai.

Nation Blanding: Hedonism and the Underselling of Beirut

If you haven’t already had a glimpse of this video of Richard Quest “extolling the virtues of Lebanon’s hedonism and joie de vivre” that has angered many a Lebanese folk. One blogger, Nasri Attalah had serious beef with the stance Quest takes on presenting Beirut as a city of the future, and he took to his blog to vent his feelings, sparring on an heated exchange.

Animal/Human Breathtaking Photography

Yes, sure Kipp isn’t quite the art-oriented website, but this weekend we take a break from our usual shop talk to present to you this excellent porfotolio of an excellent artist that very smartly combines animals and humans in these creative set of photograph.
