Dubai has been buzzing about David Beckham over the last week. The former England captain, on a three-month loan from the Los Angeles Galaxy, made a debut for AC Milan on Tuesday. According to the UK’s Daily Mail, more than $4.5 million was spent on security operations for David Beckham and AC Milan in Dubai.
Beckham’s career began when he signed a professional contract with Manchester United, making his first team debut in 1992. He left Manchester United for Real Madrid in 2003, where he remained for four seasons. In 2007, Beckham left Real Madrid and signed a five-year contract with the Los Angeles Galaxy for $250m. A two-time runner-up for FIFA World Player of the Year, he currently tops the annual Football Rich List produced by Four Four Two magazine, with an estimated wealth of around $190 million.
