Divorce in the UAE
The divorce rate in the UAE has increased dramatically in the last few years, and is costing the government lots of money.

In the event of divorce, women have the right to take their separate property and any amount of money they receive in a property settlement with their husbands. Allowances are granted to the wife for the “maintenance” of herself and the children (the amount depends on the court ruling).
