Do you think Arabs make good filmmakers?

We asked Kipp’s readers if they think Arabs make good filmmakers, and aside from getting berated for being ‘racist’ and ‘promoting stereotypes’, we got hundreds of votes. According to our poll, 60 percent of readers believe that Arabs do not make good filmmakers, whereas 40 percent believe that they do.

Arabs aren’t known for their filmmaking skills. We don’t need statistical data to prove this…we have cable, and that’s enough. But that’s our opinion. Why do you think most readers don’t have faith in Arab filmmakers?
