Dean Obeidallah and a few of his friends made a video about Arab-American stereotypes, “Don’t call me that”, for Queen Rania last year, and she posted it on her YouTube page. According to Obeidallah, the video has been viewed by people in over 15 countries.
Obeidallah was born in New Jersey to a Palestinian father and Sicilian mother. He was a practicing lawyer for many years before becoming a stand up comedian. In 2005, Obeidallah became the recipient of the first annual Bill Hicks Spirit Award For Thought Provoking Comedy from the NY Underground Comedy Festival and the Hicks’ family.
