19-year old pro-Mubarak Facebook protester writes The Guardian

As a member of the pro-Mubarak Facebook group called Ana aasif ya rayyis (I’m sorry, Mr President), Ala Abdul Nabi writes a column in the Guardian about how the likes of Google executive Wael Ghonim and former UN nuclear weapons chief Mohamed ElBaradei have “turned democracy and freedom and flipped it into chaos. The 19-year-old journalism student who lives in Cairo writes that the groups will take to the streets again if HosniMubarak is imprisoned and if those currently in power don’t get the act together. Kipp has recently published reports of low police morale and citizens taking security into their own hands by buying firearms for protection against thugs in some parts of Egypt.

Sounds like a dangerous proposition doesn’t it? Surely, you won’t be tagging Kanye West on your uh, bum, right? Or tag McDonald’s on a photo of a creepy man on the metro? Surely not. This certainly opens an opportunity for individuals to perhaps start selling their ‘friends list’ by promising brands to tag their products on a regular basis (a kind of digital version Keeping up with the Joneses).

Forbes’ list of The Most Powerful Celebrities

Lady O has been replaced by Lady Gaga on the top spot of Forbes’ 100 Most Powerful Celebrities list. Yes, Oprah Winfrey has now taken rank #2 just ahead so far the most lucrative Youtube sensation Justin Bieber. A few surprises on this list, like the best pound-for-pound boxer today, Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao dropping from the list and the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio moving up from 71st last year to 15th place this year.

iPad Games for Cats

Purina has come up with three iPad games for cats. Watch this video to see teeny weeny ‘kitteh’ paws cute-fy the iPad for you. Paw-dorable. But it’s kind of sad to think that some people’s pets are more techy then some people. Before you go downloading these games, for pete’s sake please put on a screen protector first. Those paws have claws and they are unforgiving.

Ugh. Another one of these ‘look at me I’m a special biatch’ series. And this time MTV is featuring Dubai’s version of a social butterfly named Laila Banki. Love it or hate it. The clip is starting to make rounds on the internet and garnering not too kind comments about her diva ways and how she’s splurging her money. Should MTV feature these Girls with Gs in a time when most of us are tightening our belts? You decide.
