According to reports, police in Ras Al Khaimah seized huge quantities of firecrackers in a major campaign in September this year, after complaints from families that firecracker traders victimized their children.
Parents said that their children were tempted to buy firecrackers during the month of Ramadan, which they would burst during the holidays. A senior police officer told Gulf News that the police were aware of the spread of the firecrackers in the emirate, and stressed that the authorities were exerting all efforts to end the menace.
