Fireworks form a vital part of the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) and the Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS), both of which take place in the city every year.
DSF 2008 also included a Fireworks Festival, which took place during the weekends, and was organized by the Al Zarooni Group. The highlight of the event was that around 300 fireworks were launched per minute from the floating barge on the Dubai Creek, as compared to the normal 100.
Eid in Dubai, a three day event started by the DSF Office this year, also had a colorful fireworks display. The 25-minute show took place at the Dubai Festival City, and according to officials, was specially designed to celebrate Eid.
