Five major construction projects in the pipeline for Dubai
With the recent announcement of the Mall of the World mega-project in Dubai, Kippreport decided to look into other massive undertakings that are planned for the cosmopolitan city.

Mall of the World
With the capacity to welcome 180 million visitors annually, and a seven-kilometre retail street, Mall of the World will be the world’s largest shopping mall and temperature-controlled city.
Located on the Palm Jumeirah and spread over 418,000 square metres, Nakheel Mall will have five retail levels with more than 100,000 square metres of retail space, three basement parking levels, 200 shops, two anchor department stores, a nine screen cinema, medical centre, fitness complex and a roof plaza with fine dining restaurants.
Dubai Canal Project
The AED 7.34 billion Dubai Water Canal project will connect Business Bay with the Arabian Gulf. Expected to be completed in September 2016, the Dubai Canal will include a shopping centre, four hotels, 450 restaurants, new housing estates and private marinas.
The Dubai Eye
Inspired by the London Eye, Bluewater Island will house the Dubai Eye, expected to be the world’s largest Ferris wheel. At 210-metres high, the Ferris wheel will offer views of Dubai’s coastline and landmarks.
Falcon City of Wonders
A world in a city, Falcon City of Wonders will house numerous wonders of the world in one development, including the Eiffel Tower, a Pyramid’s Park, Taj Arabia, The Tower of Pisa, Dubai’s own Hanging Gardens of Babylon, town of Venice, Light House, The Great Wall, a theme park, mall and residential project.
