When Travie Mccoy crooned about how he really did “wanna be on the cover of Forbes magazine, smiling next to Oprah and the Queen” we assume he wasn’t aiming to get on to Forbes list of Most Powerful Women. It’s more likely he wanted to break onto another of Forbes’ lists of the powerful. The 2010 list of the Most Powerful People in the World, for example.

Forbes picked 68 of the world’s most powerful people for the list, out this month. Unsurprisingly the top consists primarily of world leaders or people in political office, plus a light sprinkling of businessmen. So, who made the Forbes Top Ten?

1. Hu Jintao, 67. President, China
2. Barack Obama, 49. President, United States
3. Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz al Saud, 86. King of Saudi Arabia
4. Vladimir Putin, 57. Prime Minister; Russia
5. Pope Benedict XVI 83. Pope
6. Angela Merkel, 56. Chancellor of Germany
7. David Cameron, 43. Prime Minister, Britain
8. Ben Bernanke, 56. Chairman, Federal Reserve
9. Sonia Gandhi, 63. President of Indian National Congress
