While the café managed to extend its lease, it doesn’t have an alcohol license (it had a license through the nearby Palm hotel, which was closed down). And hence, from June 1 this year, the booze has stopped flowing in the rock ‘n’ roll hub. Facebook now has a ‘Grant the Hard Rock Cafe – Dubai a license’ group.
Interestingly, in an interview given by Mohammed Ben Sulayem, the 50-percent owner of the Hard Rock Café Dubai-to Millionaire magazine, he said “I can assure you that they (the café) will not run out of hamburgers and alcohol.”
