Hard Rock Café’s memorabilia collection currently consists of around 70,000 pieces ranging from classic guitars and posters, to a lock of hair and a five-ton psychedelic bus. The pieces are rotated from restaurant to restaurant, and through the collection, the café hopes to provide a “visual history” of rock ‘n’ roll.
The collection, started with a red Fender guitar donated by Eric Clapton, is constantly growing to include more pieces.
Some of the items include Jimi Hendrix’s Flying V guitar, John Lennon’s handwritten lyrics for ‘Help’ (his favorite Beatles’ tune), Madonna’s bustier, and Bon Jovi’s torn jeans with flags on.
