Pietersen said last month that he had “reservations— 100 per cent— about going to Pakistan.”
Also born in South Africa, the English cricketer is a right-handed batsman who plays for Hampshire County Cricket Club, and is captain of both the England Test and One Day International (ODI) teams. He started playing for South Africa, but was apparently disenchanted with the racial quota system, and so joined the England team.
The 28-year-old made his international debut in the ODI against Zimbabwe in 2004 and his Test match debut in the 2005 Ashes series against Australia the next year. 2007 was a good year for him – In March, Pietersen became the third English batsman to top the ICC ODI rankings, and in the end of the year, he also got married to Liberty X singer…
