Last week, Ibrahim Dabdoub, the CEO of National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) was in London, among representatives from the world’s biggest banks, to collect the prestigious Lifetime Achievement award from The Banker magazine.
However, Dabdoud, who has been heading NBK since 1983 is not new to honors; he was named Banker of the Year by the Arab Bankers Association of North America in 1995 and the Arab Banker of the Year by the Union of Arab Banks in 1997, among several others.
He is also an executive committee member of the Arab Business Council, a board member of the following entities: Centre for Contemporary Arab Studies at Georgetown University; the International Institute of Finance; and the Arab Thought Forum. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the American University of Beirut and the Kuwait Maastricht Business School.
