In Pictures: Latest concept cars

Following the Paris Auto Show, Kipp gathered together a few of the cars you’ll be wanting to own in the next few years. Watch out especially for this Audi Quattro and the Porsche Speedster…

  • From Motorward.com:

“Great news coming from Inglostadt saying that Audi is convinced that they should put the super awesome Quattro Concept of the 2010 Paris Motor Show, into the production even though in strictly limited numbers. And why shouldn’t they, becasue there’s nothing unrealistic about it. It’s got a classic design, and a modern powertrain derived from other production models. In fact it makes total sense for Audi to make it and sell it for a huge price, as it’s the case with all rare and special Audis.”

  • From Nissan-global.com:

“Just as a white tee-shirt is usually worn casually, but can be combined with a suit to look sharp, this genre-busting vehicle mixes the comfort and style of a passenger car with the businesslike utility of a commercial vehicle. Like the tee-shirt, Nissan Townpod can be used for business or pleasure or, as is increasingly popular, by those for whom business is pleasure.”

  • From Insideline.com:

“Like its predecessor, which was killed in 2004, it's powered by a midengine 5.0-liter V8, but it's substantially more powerful, delivering 620 horsepower, a 0-60-mph time of less than 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 205 mph. It will debut in production form during spring 2013, says Lotus, and will cost "circa $175,000."

  • From Engadget.com:

“Ouch! It really stings to see the curvaceous spectacles that car designers can come up with, only to then find out the resulting electric speedsters are either far too expensive or nowhere near becoming a reality. Latest in this group of four-wheeled objects of desire is Jaguar's C-X75, which roars from 0 to 60mph in 3.4 seconds, cranks out 780bhp courtesy of a quartet of electric motors and a pair of micro gas turbines, and reaches a screaming 205mph at its absolute zenith.”

  • From the Daily Telegraph:

“This three-door has a 102bhp electric motor rather than the Jaguar's 780bhp effort, and is designed for zero-emission city-whizzing. But this is not some dull, urban buzz-box - instead, the IBe is a pertly sculpted coupé, whose compact electric powertrain allows it to accommodate four adults despite it being shorter than a Fiat Punto.”

  • From Topspeed.com:

“The concept features a new design language that will be used in lots of future BMW models. The 6-Series Concept is defined by stretched bonnet, the short front overhang, a passenger compartment set well to the rear, and a low silhouette incorporating a dynamically flowing roofline.”

  • From Autoweek.com:

“Porsche is bringing back the 911 Speedster some 16 years and three model generations after it last was featured in the German sports-car maker's lineup.”
