Ian Baker-Finch who designed the course said about his design: “Our design brief was to extend, elongate the routing throughout the desert as much as possible, creating an oasis effect throughout the Arabian Ranches property.”

The 18 hole par 71 Al Ghazal Golf course, which opened in 1997 and stretches for 6,711 yards, sets itself apart from other golf courses in the region by its unique design. As Al Ghazal puts it instead of ‘greens’ there are browns which are created by compacting rolled and treated sand.
