Pope launches news.va with a tweet on a tablet
All too often accused of being slow to catch up to contemporary times, the Vatican ushers a new era of media services when it launched its own newsportal called news.va. The site was launched this week by the Pope himself, after tapping the ‘publish’ button to a tweet using an iPad. In the tweet, the Pope writes: “Dear Friends, I just launched http://news.va. Praised be our Lord Jesus Christ! With my prayers and blessings, Benedictus XVI.”
The site will feature the latest news about the Pope, his schedule, the Vatican in general and current events and topics. Click the link to watch video of the said launch.
Iran goes through ‘economic jihad’
It’s a complete shock to hear IMF praise Iran’s economic stability and rise, especially considering IMF’s biggest shareholder is the US. However, Iran has garnered favour from the International Monetary Fund because of the strides it has made with structural reform—a particular agenda close to IMF’s heart. Of course, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei always has his own version of issues, calling it effectively an ‘economic jihad’. Kipp’s eyebrow is raised for sure, but if it works for them…Anyway, check out this article from The Economist to find out more…
Comparing the economic condition of American states with countries around the world
Here’s another one from The Economist. You’ve heard it before: California on its own would rank economically higher than most countries. What about the other states though? Check out this interactive map from The Economist and find out how American states compare to countries around the world. Who would have thought that, despite years of auto-industry hardship, the economy of Michigan is still the same size as Taiwan’s?
Why Women Are Better at Everything:
Yep, you heard that right. Women are better at everything. And the latest from Barclays Wealth and Ledbury Research will tell you that. Kipp heard it had something to do with not being overconfident. Click the title above to find out why the ‘fairer sex’ are excelling at the markets…
Google Faces Up to Facebook with ‘Plus’ Social Sharing Site
And the rivalry continues…Kipp’s sure you’ve heard about the Google + this week whispered among the digital elite. Well, if you most know, ‘Google +’ is the latest project that Google hopes will trump Facebook’s social sharing lead. To know more, click the link above. To Facebook: Ball’s in your court.
