Bungay wrote a book called “The Art of Action” which focuses exactly on knowing how to act efficiently on strategy. In the book, he outlines approaches to efficient strategy implementation and a list of ten “Glimpses of the Blindingly Obvious” which address human behaviour and conditions in the workplace.
Here are two examples:
- What has not been made simple cannot be made clear and what is not clear will not get done.
- People will only show the level of initiative required if they believe that the organisation will support them.
Bungay will be speaking in Dubai in January 2012 at Ashridge Business School’s “Making Strategy Happen programme, which is based on his Art of Action book.
