Elton John

James Blunt performed with Elton John in the past, and the latter described the song “You’re Beautiful” as a modern successor to his classic “Your Song”.

Recognized for his many hit records and his flashy clothes, Elton John is not only known for his musical career, but also for his promotion of humanitarian causes, particularly in supporting AIDS charities.

The singer’s life, however, has been difficult; he struggled with drugs and alcohol in the 1980s, and was criticized for openly declaring his homosexuality after breaking up with Renate Blauel, his wife for four years.

John was elected to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and has won numerous awards including an Academy Award in 1995. In 1997, Queen Elizabeth II knighted him “for his achievements in music and contributions to charity.”

Elton John has no children but is Godfather to two sons of football star…
