Award-winning comic genius Robin Williams was found dead on August 11 in his home in California.
His wife released a statement saying: “This morning I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings.”
Williams was loved across the world for the range of wonderful characters he embodied throughout his career.
Here are some of our favourite quotes and snippets from his work:
Mrs Doubtfire: “But if there’s love, dear… those are the ties that bind, and you’ll have a family in your heart, forever.”
Dead Poets Society: “So avoid using the word ‘very’ because it’s lazy. A man is not very tired, he is exhausted. Don’t use very sad, use morose. Language was invented for one reason, boys – to woo women – and, in that endeavor, laziness will not do. It also won’t do in your essays.”
Jumanji: “I’m terrified, but my father always told me to always face what you are afraid of.”
Aladdin: “No matter what anybody says, you’ll always be a prince to me.”
Flubber: “Ta-ta, my love.”
