Modhesh has just said goodbye for another year as Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) concluded few days back. The 11th edition of the festival, it was the first for Laila Suhail as CEO of the DSF Office, which organizes DSS and its sister retail extravaganza, Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF). According to reports, the event this year witnessed a huge response. “When we started, we did not imagine DSS could become so successful,” she said.
The ex-chief strategy officer of the DSF, Suhail was appointed to CEO earlier this year. Dubai Government launched the DSF in 1996 to attract shoppers and to boost its retail and tourism sectors.
DSF’s first female CEO, Suhail started her career at the Dubai Department of Economic Development and has been with the DSF since its inception in October 1995. She is also a board member of the Dubai Gold and Jewelry Group, and spearheads its marketing and communication.
She was awarded the Government Excellence Award by Dubai’s Ruler, Sheikh Mohammad, for gathering a high amount of sponsorshipfor DSF in 2001.
