A new lifestyle shopping website, MOX iT (www.moxit.com), which provides customers with same-day deliveries for a variety of fashion, food, travel and entertainment products, launched last week in the Middle East region.
The MOX iT website is part of MOX Telecom Arabia, the Middle Eastern branch of German telecoms group MOX Telecom AG. The e-shopping website offers customers a 24/7 service, as well as rewards and loyalty programmes with secure credit card purchases.
“We combine German reliability and technical know-how with a dynamic retail environment that is very much on trend and stocks the latest styles from premium brands. We have created a convenient, simple and trustworthy shopping journey,” says Debbie Baertschi, CEO at MOX iT.
She adds that 60 per cent of the website’s sales are through credit cards, while 50 per cent of the Mena region’s consumers make an online purchase once per month. The B2C (business-to-consumer) e-commerce sales are expected to increase to $15 billion by 2015, up from an estimated $9bn in 2012, according to a statement released by MOX iT.
“Our shoppers value style, but are also enjoy entertainment and adventure. They want to shop smart and find excellent deals, but without compromising on quality, trust or convenience. We know our shoppers well and have tailored the shopping experience to their preferences,” says Baertschi.
With an estimated 135 million internet users in the region, online games, computer software, entertainment and accessories are the most popular categories, says the company.
The statement adds that 60 per cent of surveyed UAE residents claim they were planning to purchase a deal online in the next month.
The German company MOX Telecom AG was founded in 1998 and has, since 2006, been listed on the German stock exchange in Frankfurt. It currently operates in the US, Africa, the Middle East region and Southeast Asia, with an e-commerce firm MOX Deals AG. The Middle East region’s branch has re-marketed itself as MOX iT, with planned extensions in Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Egypt.
