In recent months, financial reports indicating increased confidence and investment, and government measures to control the growth of the market have all signaled the resurgence of Dubai’s property sector. However, nothing screams healthy real estate market quite like a clowder of purring cats.
Dubai Municipality’s new luxury hotel for pets (cats and dogs) will be ready by March 2014. The project, which also includes a larger birds and pets market, is worth AED54 million.
Hussain Nasser Lootah, director-general of Dubai Municipality, made the announcement of the launch after reviewing the facility in Al Warsan 3, Dubai, which is triple the size of the existing domestic animal market.
The 835-square-metre luxury air-conditioned hotel – with therapy sessions, dressing and grooming rooms, laundry services, playgrounds, supervisors and vets – is designed to host four-legged guests, while their owners are abroad or on vacation.
Owners will also be able to monitor their pets online while abroad.
Lootah has previously said that he hopes the project will boost both trade and tourism, adding that it was established after a thorough study on the requirements of the domestic animal market in Dubai.
