If ever there was a woman who had a meteoric rise, it’s Manal Shaheen. Since joining Nakheel in 2003, then a tiny developer with big ambitions, she served as a sales manager, a general manager of VIP sales, and the director of sales, marketing and customer service.
Today, she brandishes the title of chief commercial officer, Commercial Division Nakheel, which is a flowery rendition of her old title.
In addition to her role at Nakheel, Shaheen is also involved in initiatives in the Emirates. She is vice chairwoman of Forsa, Arabic for ‘opportunity’, which offers guidance to female entrepreneurs and investors, and vice chairwoman of the board for the Dubai Women Establishment.
