The Abu Dhabi Media Company has recently announced that Martin Newland, editor in chief of The National, will be stepping down and taking on the role of editorial director in the company. He is being replaced by his deputy, Hassan Fattah. The former editor of The Daily Telegraph, Martin Newland launched the Abu Dhabi government-owned newspaper in 2008, and the paper currently boasts circulation figures of more than 60,000.
Newland has also worked at the Catholic Herald, and was also the deputy editor of Canadian daily the National Post.
During his tenure as the editor of The Daily Telegraph, he got a chance to visit the Oval Office where he interviewed the then president of the United States…
